Marquette pitcher Joseph Campbell did his part in helping his team beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Campbell. He threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Mark Moss. Pedro Hernández got the save, his 10th in 11 chances.

Daniel Tidwell was 1-2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Marquette. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mark Moss. It was his 30th RBI of the season.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Campbell.
