Turbeaus Take Tight Tangle
|
Behind the hitting of Jacob Webb, the Gulf Coast Turbeaus stopped the Olympia Ogres, 4-3. Webb was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Turbeaus. Ánibal Vázquez finished the game for Gulf Coast and earned his 3rd save. The Turbeaus now own a record of 32-58.
Webb had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Il-hwan Kim, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Turbeaus a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Webb.
After the game, Gulf Coast manager Neal Davis applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
