Miners Suffer 4-2 Loss to Ogres
|
The Olympia Ogres overcame a good performance by Marquette center fielder Lenny Dee to knock off Marquette, 4-2, at The Ogre Den. Dee went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Jeff Rodríguez picked up his 28th save of the season. Olympia is now 46-45, while Marquette is 44-47.
The Ogres got a big at-bat from shortstop Ed Brandon. For the game, Brandon was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Olympia a 4-2 lead.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Brandon.
