Fighting Imps Handle Javelina, Nab 7-1 Win
The Ithaca Fighting Imps took on the Arizona Javelina at Javelina Ballpark.

The Arizona Javelina had to reckon with Ithaca Fighting Imps hurler Phil Johnstone. Johnstone overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Fighting Imps triumph. Ithaca reliever Curt Gaines snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Millard Washington shouldered the loss. Phil Johnstone finished the game for Ithaca and earned his 2nd save.

Ithaca used the bat of Robinson Barrios to get the win. The center fielder hit a fastball from Millard Washington out of the park for a 3-run home run. The blast came in the top of the second inning and put the Fighting Imps on top, 3-0. It was Barrios's lone hit, but it left a mark.

Said losing manager Dino Moonglampers: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."

The 5th-place Fighting Imps are now 48-44, the Javelina 28-64.
