The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs got a strong performance from pitcher Rod Pritchard, who stymied the Mercer Island offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Experimental Stadium. The 9th-place Guinea Pigs now have a record of 40-53.

Helping the Gwinnett cause was Don Kirby. In the bottom of the second, the 23-year old center fielder had a run-scoring walk to make the score 3-1, Guinea Pigs.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Pritchard.
