The Pontiac Godfathers pushed past the Laredo Hawks, 8-6, in 10 innings at Hawks Field. Ramón Martínez went 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Pontiac reliever Christian Williams picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Matt Whitfield was saddled with the loss. The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Martínez delivered big-time for Pontiac, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Matt Whitfield. The game-changing hit put the Godfathers on top, 8-6.

"Whenever I help the team," said Martínez, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
