5 Straight Wins for Manatees
The Matlacha Manatees defeated the Alameda Airmen, 10-7, at Alameda Field. Matlacha left fielder Manny García had a superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The first-place Manatees have won 5 straight.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Renato González was at the plate when Matlacha scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Manatees to go in front, 8-7.

"You just play the game as right as you can and see where you end up," said Manatees manager Markus Richardson.
