Thomas Excels, Bethesda Levels Nuevo Mexico

At Atoms Field, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Bethesda Atoms were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Bethesda Atoms firmly defeated the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 15-2, at Atoms Field. The Bethesda offense was lit. Phil Thomas, for one, had a solid game. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7 for the Atoms. Robby McIntyre was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Victor Collins.
Early in the game, Thomas had a 3-run home run for Bethesda. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Atoms on top, 3-0.
"They just got us," said Nuevo Mexico manager John Sirica, "and that's all I can say."
Bethesda has now won 3 straight, while the Mariachis have lost 3 in a row.
