Rainbow Mermaids Grind Out 2-1 Win
Northern Virginia registered a win at Atlantica by beating the Mexico City Blue Demons, 2-1. Pitcher Pablo Valentín was one reason why the Rainbow Mermaids triumphed. Northern Virginia reliever Pablo Valentín got the win, raising his record to 6-8. Mark Bowden was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Rainbow Mermaids sit at 54-48.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Rainbow Mermaids had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when right fielder Markus Lund hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mark Bowden and made the score 2-0, Rainbow Mermaids. Lund was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk.

Lund called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
