Screaming Eagles Rack Up 7-1 Win Versus Chesapeake
Mercer Island starter Fernando López put a stranglehold on the Chesapeake offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Screaming Eagles to a 7-1 win. López, now 11-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Juan Carrillo, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2050 draft, earned the save for Mercer Island.

The Screaming Eagles got a big hit from shortstop Micheal Ball. Facing Chesapeake pitcher Bob Merendino in the bottom of the fifth, Ball pounded a 2-run double to left. His 11th double of the season put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 5-1.

"Enjoyed this one," Ball told the Mercer Island Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

Mercer Island is now 58-37.
