Mariachis Hand Bethesda 7-3 Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Bethesda Atoms.
Behind a solid performance from third baseman James Rowland, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 7-3. Rowland went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Mariachis. Nuevo Mexico now sports a record of 55-41.
Rowland contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Nuevo Mexico in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Rowland took a sinker from Bob McCann and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mariachis to leap in front, 4-1.
Rowland called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
