Late Rally by Guinea Pigs Locks Up 4-1 Win
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs beat the Vancouver Vipers, 4-1, at Experimental Stadium. Starting pitcher Sam Frey was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Matt Griffin recorded the save for Gwinnett, his 25th of the season. The Guinea Pigs improved their record to 41-55 by beating Vancouver.
Gwinnett went up, 4-1, on Phil Noble's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Noble hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vancouver pitcher Glenn Lortkipanidze shaking his head.
"I thought we played a nice game," Noble told the Gwinnett Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
