Miners Rebuff Atoms, 2-1

Edgar O'Curran, who is tied for 6th in the PAA in complete games with 1, pitched well, but the Bethesda Atoms still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the Marquette Miners at Atoms Field. Pedro Hernández finished the game for Marquette and earned his 13th save. Marquette has won 5 consecutive games.
Marquette used a well-timed hit by Lenny Dee to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Miners ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"That's baseball," said Bethesda manager Esteban Garza. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
