Ogres Topple Fighting Imps, 8-5, as Davis Shines
|
Olympia shortstop Matt Davis played a vital role in his team's 8-5 conquest of Ithaca. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Olympia. Miguel Ortíz closed out the game, earning his 6th save. Olympia has won 3 straight, while Ithaca has lost 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the seventh, Davis put his team in front with his 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Allen Wagner, made it 6-5, Olympia.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Davis.
