Cook Leads Screaming Eagles to Win
Mercer Island third baseman Ed Cook had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-3. John Sanders came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Billy O'Bryan recorded his 6th save for Mercer Island.

Cook had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 changeup from Jim Wilson, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Screaming Eagles a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Cook.

Cook told the Mercer Island Daily News: "I was born for the big stage."

The Screaming Eagles now own a record of 44-52.
