Mercer Island pitcher Fernando López did his part in helping his team beat the Olympia Ogres, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Mercer Island reliever Al McCormick picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jorge Mojica was tagged with the loss. Mercer Island goes to 67-30. The win puts them 12 games up in their division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jesús Moreno in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Mojica to win the game for Mercer Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said López.
