Niagara Falls Wins, Malmivaara goes 3-for-3
|
The Niagara Falls Expos topped the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-0, in M3L Single A action at Waterfall Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Niagara Falls first baseman Sam Malmivaara. Chong-yeol Sin earned the win to go to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. With the victory, the Expos upped their record to 12-12.
With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Malmivaara came up to bat against Idaho Falls pitcher Karl Roberts. Malmivaara hit a fastball to center for a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Expos on top, 2-0.
"Winning is the only objective," said Malmivaara after the game.
