Walla Walla got a decent performance from pitcher Peter Edwards, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mancelona Torch. Mancelona won the Walleye Tank contest, 4-3. Edwards threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Knud Sterner finished to wrap up his 6th save. The 10th-place Torch go to 11-13.

Mancelona used the timely hitting of Matt Owens to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Torch on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It never gets old," said Owens. "Winning, that is."
