|
Idaho Falls pitcher Dan McFarland had a large part in his team beating the Belleville Bulls, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was McFarland. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Stéphane Huguet. The 7th-place Chukars lifted their record to 11-13.
The Chukars got an important contribution from first baseman Pepe Gonzáles, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-1 fastball to left for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Chukars ahead, 3-2.
"We were the better team," crowed Gonzáles.
