Ogres Come Up Short at Mercer Island, 4-3
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles picked up a win at Mercer Island Grounds, topping the Olympia Ogres, 4-3. On the mound for Mercer Island was right-hander Jeremy Bush. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Screaming Eagles saw their win-loss record go to 45-52. At the same time, the Ogres fell to 49-48.
The Screaming Eagles got a big at-bat from left fielder José Rangel. For the game, Rangel was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Mercer Island a 4-3 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Rangel told the Mercer Island Daily News.
