Shredders Lose to Thunder, 5-3
|
Toronto parlayed a decent outing from starter Victor Lagers into a solid win over the Hollywood Shredders. The final score was 5-3. Dennis Jones got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Ron Murphy notched his 26th save in 30 chances.
Lance Slaymaker had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Toronto. With the bases loaded and the Thunder leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We took home the win," said Slaymaker. "What's not to like?"
With the win, Toronto upped its record to 57-46.
