Bethesda Gets 4-2 Win
|
The Bethesda Atoms and Vancouver Vipers played an exciting game.
The Bethesda Atoms racked up a win at Vipers Ballpark, bumping off the Vancouver Vipers, 4-2. Luis Yánez, who started for Bethesda, pitched effectively for his team. The first-place Atoms, at 58-39, now lead their division by 3 games.
Jerry Striker had a big solo home run for the Atoms in the top of the fifth inning. With Bethesda leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Jean-Jacques Grimaud, who is tied for 6th in the PAA in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Atoms on top, 2-0.
"Luis did a heck of a job," said Bethesda manager Esteban Garza.
