Mariachis Suffer One-Run Loss at Marquette
|
The Marquette Miners eked out a 3-2 win versus the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis at Marquette Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Joseph Campbell. He was terrific. The winner was Marquette reliever Dennis Garrett, now 1-3. The loser was José Tapia. Donald Huffman finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Darrell Aggett, who is tied for 10th in the PAA with a .363 on-base percentage, helped out the Marquette cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks.
Marquette manager Andrés Pérez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The win puts the Miners at 50-48, while the Mariachis drop to 47-51.
