Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Vancouver Vipers got the win.
The Vancouver Vipers got a stellar effort from pitcher Chris Bligh, helping Vancouver score a win over the visiting Bethesda Atoms, 4-2. Bobby Spears recorded the save, his 31st.
The Atoms had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Vipers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Ilija Maric came to the plate. Maric hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 cutter from Bethesda hurler Keolamauloa Adoniia. It was Maric's 11th home run of the year.
Vancouver manager Rafael Longoria praised his team's "energy."
The Vipers improved their record to 55-43 with the win over Bethesda.
