Walleye Take Nail-Biter Over Blue Dragons
|
The Walla Walla Walleye faced a tough opponent in Levittown pitcher Orlando Díaz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Walleye Tank by a final score of 7-4 in 12 innings. Díaz went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Walla Walla reliever Ryan McDaniel picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Raúl Meza absorbed the loss. The 7th-place Walleye go to 13-13.
Walla Walla got a knockout punch from Francisco Sánchez. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Sánchez said in his postgame press conference.
