The Washington Generals defeated the Laredo Hawks, 4-3, in M3L Single A action at Washington Park. Washington pitcher Gerald Porter had a standout performance. Porter got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Brad Hickton, number 3 for him.

The Generals got a big at-bat from catcher Luis Hernández. For the game, Hernández went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.

"I'm happy we won," said Porter. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
