Bush Pilots Rally Late to Nip Bulls
|
The Alaskan Bush Pilots picked up a win at Belleville Field, dropping the Belleville Bulls, 3-2, in 10 innings. Whip Linkletter, who leads the 3A in innings pitched with 47.0, was the difference-maker. Alaskan is now 12-14, Belleville 10-16.
The Bush Pilots liked what they saw from Linkletter. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Bulls to no runs on 2 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 6.
"Tough loss," said Belleville manager Rafael Avelar. "But we'll learn from it."
