Miners Absorb 7-4 Home Loss

Gwinnett and Marquette duked it out and the Guinea Pigs came out victorious.
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs spoiled a good performance by Marquette first baseman Kyushichi Suzuki, bumping off Marquette, 7-4, at Marquette Stadium. Suzuki was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Sam Frey. He tossed 102 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.
In the top of the third, Gwinnett right fielder Alfredo Guevara had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Guevara stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Gwinnett. For the game, he went 1-3 with 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs.
