Andrew Wilkes-Krier, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A with a 0.82 WHIP, was in top form in a tight contest between Niagara Falls and Alameda. The Expos left-hander helped his team beat the Airmen, 3-1. In 5.2 innings, Wilkes-Krier surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 8th save for Niagara Falls was Garry Davis.
Niagara Falls used the hitting of Duncan Fleming to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Expos on top, 3-1. For the game, Fleming had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Niagara Falls manager Joe Gregory said.
The win puts Niagara Falls at 15-12 this season.
