Mockingbirds Win Thriller, 6-5
The Memphis Mockingbirds trumped the Toledo Stingers, 6-5, at Magnolia Park. Memphis catcher Carlos Gómez was terrific. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Kenny Flint picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Sam Myers, who finished 2nd in the PL in saves with 23 last year, took the loss. With the victory, the Mockingbirds record stands at 45-58.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Gómez hit a cutter from Sam Myers for a solo home run. The Mockingbirds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Gómez said.
