Roach Bewilders Chukars, 4-0
|
It wasn't easy but the Belleville Bulls made it look that way.
Starter Martin Roach shut out the Idaho Falls Chukars despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Belleville Bulls cruised to victory, 4-0. Roach allowed only 6 hits and rang up 6 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
In 5 starts this season, Roach has fashioned a 2-1 record and a 2.62 ERA.
