Delmarva Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
In a low-scoring game between Delmarva and Matlacha, pitcher Jody Brown was excellent. The Delmarva left-hander helped his team knock off the Manatees, 2-1. Delmarva reliever Charles Covenay snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Andrew Thomas shouldered the loss. The Manatees, now 13-19, have lost 4 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Drew Melton in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Andrew Thomas to win the game for Delmarva. The home crowd went nuts.

"Really, really impressed with the way Jody competed and executed pitches," said Delmarva manager Félix Martínez.
