The exploits of third baseman Mike Harris, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2053 draft, helped the Yucca Valley Yellows defeat the Niagara Falls Expos, 11-2. Harris went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. John Pratt closed it out for his 1st save. With this game in the books, Yucca Valley is 17-16, Niagara Falls 18-15.
The win was a team effort for Yucca Valley. Right Fielder Ralph Garrison was among the key contributors. In the bottom of the second, he put his team in front, 2-1, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"This is one game in a long season," said losing manager Mackenzie Bolen. "The sooner we can forget about it, the better."
