Shredders Win, 5-4, Over Boston
|
The Hollywood Shredders picked up a win at Dunkin Donuts Park, downing the Boston Patriots, 5-4. On the mound for Hollywood was right-hander Bill Owens, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Owens. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Cordell Dawson. Hollywood now has a record of 57-47 with the win.
Hollywood used a well-timed hit by Soo-keun Yi to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Shredders ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I like our moxie," said Shredders manager Bill Cheese.
