The Laredo Hawks and Belleville Bulls put on a pitchers' duel.

Sam Hart, who is tied for 4th in the 3A with a 0.98 WHIP, had a strong outing for the Laredo Hawks against the Belleville Bulls at Hawks Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 2-0 win. Cisco Pérez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Carlos Vázquez didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Belleville trailing 1-0, Vázquez retired Chuck Gray to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Vázquez, with a wink.

Laredo, now 19-16, holds down 6th place in the Menard's A.
