Walleye Knock Off Generals, 2-1
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Walla Walla Walleye and the Washington Generals, pitcher Billy Warren was superb. The Walla Walla left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the 3A with a 1.41 ERA, spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Warren, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The setback makes Washington 16-19.
Making an impact for the home team was George Tennyson. In the bottom of the third, the 22-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Walleye.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Washington manager Kyu-cheol Kye.
