The Niagara Falls Expos downed the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 7-0. The hitting star was right fielder Kenny Simpson. Simpson went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs for the Expos. The second-place Expos improved to 24-14.

The Expos got an important contribution from shortstop Juan Luis Acosta, who in the top of the fourth knocked a 0-1 fastball to right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Expos ahead, 3-0.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Simpson. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
