Bell Leads Yellows to Win
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows defeated the Matlacha Manatees, 4-2. Shortstop Roy Bell deserved a large share of the credit. Bell went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Yellows. Yucca Valley, now 17-23, holds down 10th place in the Menard's A.
Bell had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third to put Yucca Valley in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Matlacha pitcher Jeremy Tidwell.
Said losing manager Markus Richardson: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
