Rocketeers Come Up Short at New Orleans, 3-2
|
Getting offensive support from Iván Garza, the New Orleans Voodoo topped the Seattle Rocketeers, 3-2. Garza was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Voodoo. Ronnie Gómez snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 3.2 innings. He's now 10-3 on the season. At 60-45, the Voodoo are currently second in the Premier League.
Tak-keung Zha drew 1 walk for New Orleans. The 32-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Mei-shio Qin. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"It was just a matter of executing," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
