Manatees Lose 6-1 Decision to Yucca Valley
Colt Cleveland, who is tied for 6th in the 3A in quality starts with 6, never let the Manatees get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Yellows to a win, 6-1. Cleveland yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 11. His record improves to 3-3. The Yellows saw their record improve to 18-23.

Yucca Valley first baseman Jim Chuma landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 2nd home run of the season. With it, the Yellows took a 4-1 lead.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Cleveland. "Successful pitchers do it."
