Airmen Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The Alameda Airmen snuck past the Mancelona Torch, 3-2, in 10 innings. Alameda pitcher Ed Mullins, in particular, had a standout performance. The win elevated the Airmen to 26-18.
The Airmen got a clutch hit from shortstop Floyd Waddell. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Airmen.
In postgame comments, Mullins said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
