Bulls Top Generals, 4-2
|
Washington Park was the site of a competitive game between the Washington Generals and Belleville Bulls.
Behind an impressive start by Paddy Wagterveld, Belleville beat Washington, 4-2. In 7 innings, Wagterveld surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs.
Belleville used the timely hitting of António Espinosa to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I thought we played a nice game," Espinosa told the Belleville Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Belleville is now 19-26. Washington is 15-30.
