Chukars Pull Out Late Win, 1-0
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars picked up a win at Bellevue Field, downing the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 1-0. On the mound for Idaho Falls was right-hander Luis Tirado, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mario Happ got the save, the 7th for him this season. With this game in the books, Idaho Falls is 26-24, Rocky Mountain 32-18.
Idaho Falls used the clutch hitting of Dani Soto to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chukars ahead, 1-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Tirado said.
