The New Orleans Voodoo could not turn a fine performance from third baseman Fernando Mezzatesta into a win. Instead, the Seattle Rocketeers prevailed, 8-6. Mezzatesta went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Álex López notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. With the win, Seattle raised its record to 61-45.

Seattle won the game in part because of Ostoja Popovic. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 6-5. For the game, Popovic had 2 doubles and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Popovic. "And not try to do too much."
