The Alaskan Bush Pilots faced a tenacious opponent in Laredo pitcher Sam Hart, but still scratched out a win at Hawks Field by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Hart went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Alaskan reliever Zhi-jan Wu picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Wendel Loovens took the loss. Richie Davis closed out the game, earning his 9th save.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of James Hunt to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bush Pilots on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put together a nice win," Hunt said.
Alaskan bumps their record to 27-26 with the win.
