The Idaho Falls Chukars locked up a win at Fuller Park, knocking off the Matlacha Manatees, 3-2. On the mound for Idaho Falls was right-hander Karl Roberts. He played a major role in the triumph. Roberts picked up the win for Idaho Falls, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. The Chukars move to 27-26 with the win, while the Manatees drop to 25-28.
Maurice van Berkel drove in one run for Idaho Falls. The 24-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jerry Bower. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
van Berkel told a Idaho Falls Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
