Chukars Defeat Bush Pilots, 1-0
|
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Francisco Chavarría turned in a top-notch performance against the Alaskan Bush Pilots at Idaho Falls Park. The result was a win for the Chukars, 1-0. Idaho Falls reliever Alfredo Maldonado was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Juan Nevárez. Idaho Falls leads the Menard's A by 2½ games.
The Chukars procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Ángel Cabrera. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
Cabrera told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
