The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Mango Yard, knocking off the Holy City Herons, 3-0. On the mound for Mancelona was left-hander Kanzaburo Ichikawa, who played a pivotal role in the win. Ichikawa, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. Eugene Blake earned save number 6 this season.

It could have been a different outcome for Mancelona, had it not been for Ronnie Pendley, the 24-year old third baseman . Pendley contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Mancelona up, 1-0.

"I know we have our doubters," said Holy City manager Júlio González. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
