Patriots Suffer One-Run Loss at Toledo
Starting pitcher Rodrigo García pitched well enough to help the Toledo Stingers beat the Boston Patriots, 8-7. García got the win, improving to 13-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Earning the save was Ed Fox. He's now cashed in 6 of 7 save opportunities.

Franky Bongers had a big 2-run double for the Stingers in the bottom of the first inning. With Toledo leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Mario Gonzáles, who finished 2nd in the PL in ERA with 2.77 in 2058, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stingers ahead, 3-0.
