New Orleans Voodoo pitcher Jesús Rosas was in top form, leading his team past the Boston Patriots, 2-1. New Orleans reliever Andrew Stockton was the winner. His record is now 10-6. The losing pitcher was Juan Sánchez. With the win, New Orleans raised its record to 60-47.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Gerben Pauw came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Boston pitcher Juan Sánchez, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New Orleans on top, 2-1.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Pauw told the New Orleans Herald.
