Bulls Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
|
Belleville Bulls starter Peyton Larson found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Matlacha Manatees. Belleville reliever Norm Sizemore picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Michael Green was saddled with the loss. Belleville, now 33-24, holds down 4th place in the Menard's A.
Had Ron Reed not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Reed hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Bulls.
"We ground out the win," said Reed. "That's all that matters."
