Justin Allen did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Mancelona Torch from being beaten, 7-6, to the Huntington Hermit Crabs at The Shell. Allen went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Huntington reliever César Contreras picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Knud Sterner took the loss. Miguel López notched his 15th save of the season.

Nueve de Julio, Argentina-born Júlio Escamilla came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Hermit Crabs trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Huntington on top.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Huntington manager Manuel Martínez.

The Hermit Crabs improved their record to 30-27 by beating Mancelona.
